“The change to a different front wing after Saturday’s crash meant I started the race from the pitlane – which was always going to make for a tricky afternoon. It took Sergio (Perez) and I about two laps to catch back up with the pack.

“The first stint was good; I managed to pass both Haas cars and I was happy with the pace. Later on I did a long stint on the hard tyres though, and managing those became challenging towards the end of the race.

“Overall those overtakes and the electric atmosphere at the circuit were the highlights for me. Thank you Zandvoort, now on to Monza!”
